So I am already tired of the 2015 Mustang...

But I just heard about the possibility of a motor dubbed 'voodoo' which may make its way into the Mustang at some point.

The 'voodoo' is a flat plane crank V8 with twin turbos strapped onto it. What this means is that the crank is positioned to be 180* apart, rather than having each piston 90* with large counterweights.

Ferrari has used this design since almost forever. While Ferrari and other manufacturers which have used this design tend to go with lower displacement higher RPMs, Ford would be sticking with somewhere between 5 and 5.5L.

This could make for a 600-700 hp streetable Mustang with an absolutely insane sounding engine (think Ferrari meets Subaru with turbos).

I'd be happy with a flat plane high revving 5.5 NA motor with 500 hp

Chances are it wont see over 7k in factory form, so not that far off from the current 5.0 Coyote, but, a good tuner and a properly built motor could get this cranked up into the 8k range probably.

true, but with 5.5 liters and 7k rpm, you could still hit those targets

If so, I'll be taking a loan and buying one, putting it before family and education because that's how much I want a flame spitting, wheel shredding, camaro spanking, turbo v8 mustang. I'll take it in black and the first thing I'll do is go on a roadtrip across the country touring race tracks, drag strips, and mountainous and coastal roads. This is my nirvana, I will be content and free of want at that point.

Oh by far. If they build it right it could be easily modified to a 1000 HP engine.

Agreed, but first I would have to take care of those tail lights and that weird, too short, body color difuser wannabe.

This isn't happening. Flat plane part at least.

Voodoo is the Twin Turbo V8. Not a flat plane V8. Flat planes that large don't exist for a very good engineering reason, the NVH is brutal and quite frankly appalling in a road going car.

Car and Driver and co keep peddling this shit and its just not true. Even with a 7k redline thats a REDUCTION from the current NA V8 and that makes little sense.
